For the surgeon

Quickening at midnight
the bone marimba
will dance macabre indefinitely
dangling the light fantastic
A push of wind from the dank garden
A glockenspiel cavorts
sliced away from the bone
sinews dangling
Then needles will dance
a minuette for the surgeon
A sward of black in the tumbling light
Bandages whorl and whistle
whomp and swirl like sails
and sinews knit and platelets
will dance the dance of healing
Bow deep/ body/
surgeon/ bow deep
